Overview
The museum presents the Medal of Honor not as distant military history, but as a set of values visitors can recognize in ordinary life. Monumental spaces convey the scale of the honor. Personal stories, artifacts, and media reveal the individual choices behind it and invite visitors to consider courage in their own lives.

“The short film begins one of the most impactful museum visits I have ever experienced.”
More than 3,500 stories
More than 3,500 people have received the Medal of Honor. Their stories pull in every direction: military history, theaters of war, the meaning of the medal itself. The core experience is curated to twelve recipients, each told as a full human biography rather than names and dates. Everything else builds out from them. Courage is easier to recognize when it belongs to a whole person, not a citation.

“Here you meet the people first and then you learn what they did.”
The gallery space
The gallery is a single open space, light and layered, with room to stay with a story. People cry here, and leave thinking about courage in their own lives.
